Dr. Carlos Osmar Bertero

Professor of Organizational and Strategic Management
Professor Bertero holds a Bachelor of arts, majoring in philosophy, from the University of São Paulo, an MBA from Michigan State University and a Ph.D. from Cornell University. He has been with the Vargas Foundation School of Business for most of his career and has taught and researched in the areas of Organization and Strategic Management. In addition to his teaching and research duties he has been active as a school administrator and was, over the years, a Department head, associate Dean for Academic Affairs and Dean for the School from 1984 through 1987.
His research interest in the last years focused in the development of managerial thought and on the problems of theory building and knowledge production in management, particularly in the organizational analysis area. He also teaches in management education courses, mainly through the PEC-Programa de Educação Continuada- Executive Development and Training Program. He has been involved with consulting during his career, mostly for the private sector.
Since January 2005, he is the president of ANPAD – The Brazilian Academy of Management. |
