Mr. Larry Ka Yeung P OON currently holds the position of Honorary Institute Fellow of t he Asia-Pacific Institute of Business , CUHK. He is the director and management consultant of a wide range of companies in the Asia-Pacific region .

 

In 2001, Larry set up his consultancy and investment business, he has been providing training workshops for the senior managers, directors for many corporations such as, Jusco Department Store, Swire, Hongkong Post, Hong Kong Police Force, China Unicom, China Mobile in the modules of strategic marketing, marketing strategy, consumer behaviour, o rganizational d iagnosis, project management, l eadership , team building and problem solving. Larry currently provid es consulting services to the Chinese Gold and Silver Exchange in Hong Kong, Duravit AG from Germany, B&Q from U.K. i n area s including strategic business plan, market analysis, market ing strategies , and operation mode reengineering.

 

As the executive director of the Global Business Institute, he has been cooperating with the CEO of Duravit AG, the CEO of Seven Eleven Convenience Store of Thailand and Lotus Hyper-store of China in writing global business case study. Larry is the independent director of Shenzhen Neptunus Interlong Bio-Technique Company Limited which is a publicly-listed company of Hong Kong stock exchange. As a contribution to the society, Larry has been sharing his strategic thinking, management knowledge and project management skill through the radio program “New Management Thinking” on channel 1 of RTHK since the end of 2004 as a guest host.

 

 

Career Path

Larry joined BSC, a leading b uilding m aterial company in Hong Kong in the 1980s and was promoted to the position of Assistant General Manager in 199 4 and then to the General Manager of China. He was instrumental in the success of formulating strategic plan fo r the company , setting up regional offices in four cities in China ( Beijing , Shanghai , Dalian , Guangzhou ) and implementing the business operation modes in 35 cities . He was the key man to advise local/regional partners to integrate with international brands and to formulate the strategic marketing plans for the international brands entered into China in 1990’ s ( ROCA , Grohe, V&B, Teuco, EMCO and so forth) . With his outstanding performance in China , he was appointed as the Commercial Director for the Greater China by the ROCA Group , a global market lead er in building product industry based in Spain . Larry played an important role in the national set up of ROCA in the Greater China, from manufacturing to marketing. His achievement left a mark in the industry. In 2001, Larry set up his consultancy and investment business.
