About the GMAT and TOEFL
GMAT
- Purpose: The Graduate Management Admission Test® (GMAT®) assesses your academic ability. It consists of three main parts: analytical writing, quantitative, and verbal.
- Taking the test: The GMAT is administered by Pearson Education. In Brazil, you can take this exam in São Paulo, Rio de Janeiro, Curitiba, Porto Alegre or Brasília.
- Test appointments : To schedule the exam, you should access www.mba.com or call (1) 952 681 3680. We recommend that you schedule your appointment at least 30 days in advance of taking the test.
- Test scores : The official score report will be sent to you by mail from the U.S. about 30 days after taking the test. You will get an unofficial score report as soon as you finish the test. You may submit this score to FGV-EAESP, but the admission decision will depend on the final score. Please send the official score to the school as soon as you receive it.
- Test Cost : Cost for the GMAT test is US$ 250.
- More information: The GMAT Information Bulletin, which gives more information about the tests, is available at www.mba.com. They offer software for test practice. Some of the software is free, and others require a fee.

TOEFL
- Purpose: This test assesses your ability to use English as a foreign language. The test takes about 4 hours and has four sections: listening, listening and structure, reading, and writing.
- Test sites: The TOEFL test is administered by the Educational Testing Service (ETS) throughout the year at test centers worldwide, including Belo Horizonte, Brasilia, Curitiba, Porto Alegre, Recife, Rio de Janeiro, and São Paulo. In São Paulo, tests are offered at Associação Alumni, tel. 3067-2916, e-mail: advising@alumni.org.br.
- Test appointments: Phone the appropriate Regional Registration Center for Latin America or access www.toefl.org to set up an appointment to take the test. It is possible to schedule your test within a few days of taking it, but popular dates (weekends, especially) book quickly. Have your credit card in hand when calling ETS. We recommend that students schedule at least 30 days in advance of taking the test.

- Test scores: One week after taking the test, students can get an unofficial score report by phone, which can be submitted to FGV-EAESP. When receiving the official score report, please send a copy of it to FGV-EAESP with the required documents and application forms.

Additional Information
- Repeat tests: You may not take the TOEFL or GMAT more than one time in any calendar month, even if you have taken the test and cancelled your scores. If you take the test more than once in a calendar month, your new scores will not be reported and your test fee will be forfeited.
