Learning Philosophy

The learning approach in the Global Executive OneMBA Program at RSM Erasmus University is not built on theoretical learning in the common format of university education. Our executives bring a great deal of experience into the program themselves. Therefore, we see our function as building on your experience and helping you to improve current skills and develop new ones. In short, we offer a cooperative learning environment.

Naturally, gaining knowledge in business areas where you have no experience is a mainstay of the program learning. However, more importantly, our learning philosophy is to teach you to think critically on all these subjects, facilitate your decision-making skills, and guide you in building knowledge on how to implement those decisions.

To facilitate this, we concentrate on student-centered learning using lectures, case studies, workshops, global residencies, simulations, real-life projects, internet, and group and independent work. Furthermore, our executives work in global teams to help stimulate cross-border cooperation while giving you the opportunity to experience global-conferencing first hand.

Academic Content

RSM's OneMBA module descriptions include three types of courses:

In addition, the Personal Leadership Development (PLD) program runs throughout first year of the OneMBA program, parallel to your core courses. The PLD program assists you in acquiring and practicing key leadership competencies. It aims to improve your personal and team performance in the short-term and to create a platform for your career development and sustained life-long learning. The PLD program is an integrated process aimed at raising awareness by focusing on specific issues and experiences, introducing diverse perspectives, new concepts and models, and studying the impact of managerial action and personal leadership. Part of the PLD program is supported by our Career Management Centre (CMC). Their experience in personal coaching and their access to mentors is key in this area.
